Mary Brogcinski
Director of Education/Communication
Biography
2012

I started my career in the Kaleida System at Deaconess in 1990 as an LPN after graduating from Erie 1 Boces. The decision to work for Buffalo General was an easy one; they had the best pay and benefits in the area.  I transferred over to BGH in 1993 and continued to work Telemetry, Med/Surg and a short stay in the ER.  In 2003 I finally finished my RN degree at ECC and took a job in the RN Bargaining Unit at BGH.

It was at that time I was infected with the "Union Bug". I started as a Steward in 2003 then became a Chief Steward in 2004.  As a Chief, I started writing for our Union Newsletter – Stat!.  In 2006, I jumped at the chance to represent the entire CWA 1168 Local when the position for Education/Communication Director was vacated.  I am responsible for the locals Union publications, steward training, photography, the local web page and Facebook page.

In 2007, I completed my Master Degree in Nursing. I am a Core Clinical Nurse Educator for Kaleida Health.

I will enthusiastically continue to promote Unionism and Patient Advocacy in WNY.

I am the proud mother of 2 grown children - Caitlin (Physical Education Teacher) and Kyle (US Marine), one sweet old dog - Murphy and reside in Elma.
