I began my career at Buffalo General Hospital in 1964 as a registered nurse, and have been involved with the Union since its inception in 1981. An original member of CWA Local 1168’s first executive board as a District Director and represented the registered nurses at BGH. I served as a member of the bargaining committee for the first contract in 1983 and again in 1988, 1990 and 1992. In 1995 I was elected as Vice President of the Local and have served in this capacity to the present. After assuming the position of vice president, I was assigned to represent what is now known as our non-Kaleida bargaining unit members. I have served as bargaining committee chief spokesperson for Sheehan (RN); Planned Parenthood (professional and medical clerk); Absolut of Gasport nursing home (LPN); and the Union Occupational Health Center. In addition I also represent St. Joseph Hospital (RN); Family Pharmaceutical Services (High St. and Children’s pharmacies; and all non managerial staff at the Millard Fillmore Surgery Center. I am married and have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.
