Terri Schelter
Director of Legislation and Political Action
Biography
2012

I have been an RN since 1975.  My union involvement began with the organizing drive for the RN’s at Buffalo General Hospital in 1981. Throughout the years I have served as Vice- President, Chief Steward, Steward, and Organizer and served on multiple committees for the union. Currently I hold a position as a RN in the operating room at BGH as well as Legislative Political Director for our Local union. I believed then and continue to believe now that the only way to make positive steps forward in wages, working conditions and providing quality patient care is through active involvement in the Union, community groups and in the political arena.  The 25th Anniversary party reminded me of all the struggles, tears, hard work, victories and friends I have made since 1981 and I would not trade them for anything. I look forward to the future and invite all of our members to participate in our Union and our future.
