Subject: Let’s Show Up United for Buffalo & Erie County
Dear CWA Local 1168 Members at Kaleida Health,
It takes all of us working together to advance the common good.
So many here in Erie County, and around the world are still dealing with the impact of COVID-19. The global pandemic not only exposed unjust systems in our community, but it also widened existing divides and hurt people already vulnerable in our community. The best way to close this widening gap and help more people thrive is for all of us to Show Up United.
That is why we are excited to endorse the United Way of Buffalo Erie County’s campaign at Kaleida Health.
With your help, more of our neighbors, union brothers and sisters, and family members will be able to navigate the long recovery ahead as they rebuild their lives.
United Way of Buffalo & Erie County has always worked to serve under-resourced communities, making sure everyone has access to health care, receives a quality education and can build a financially stable path. As union members, we all know how important these supports are to the success of our community and its future. Together, we can help every person have an equal opportunity to succeed.
United Way and Labor have been partners for over 80 years. United Way of Buffalo & Erie County has a dedicated staff member, Chrissy Cassata-Stayoch, who works side-by-side with labor during every strike, lay-off, and work stoppage. Most recently, she worked with CWA Local 1133 to provide food assistance, financial resource guides, and referrals to essential services to the thousands of members during the strike at Catholic Health, where over 2,000 members were without pay for weeks.
Your generous contribution to United Way of Buffalo & Erie County will create change in our community. You can change the odds for more and more families experiencing hardship in our community by providing them the building blocks for a self-sufficient life.
Please give today by clicking this Link. Register using your Kaleida email. We ask that you make your donation by February 16, 2022.
