Every floor or unit has that one person who co-workers come to with questions about policies or the contract. Everybody asks this person when vacation requests are due, etc. Are you this person? Have you ever thought about getting more involved in the Union, but didn’t know how? Sounds like you may already be doing the job of Union steward… have you considered making your title official?
A steward is really the pipeline for information between the Union and the workplace. A steward encourages his or her co-workers to read any new CWA Updates and stay informed. A steward also helps members find answers by calling the Union when new questions arise.
We have a monthly stewards’ meeting which are held on the third Thursday of every month in the afternoon in 2019. Please contact your Area Vice President if you are interested or have any questions.
