SAVE A DOG’S LIFE – GET FIRED
Our CWA 1168 member, Mary Nowicki, was fired on February 24th for her union activity. She is a leader in our movement to amplify the voice of Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center employees. OPV wants to destroy its employees’ newly formed union and keep its workers complacent.
On February 15th, Mary administered lifesaving medication to a dog who had eaten chocolate. One of OPV’s vets even thanked Mary for her quick response. Nonetheless, OPV fired Mary. To add humiliation to this unjust discharge, management marched Mary out the door.
Mary is a respected and dedicated employee and has been since 2019. She has NEVER been disciplined or had any complaints against her until CWA was certified as the employees’ union representative and she became an advocate.
Simply put, OPV is union busting. Management wants to intimidate the employees and prevent them from acting collectively to protect their interests.
Buffalo is a union town and anti-union campaigns cannot be allowed to fester here. We must stand with those who risk their livelihood to bring a union into their workplace.
Join us in a rally in front of OPV to show support for our sister Mary Nowicki!!
