SEPTEMBER 24th VACCINE EFFECTS MANDATE
The unions spent the entire day focusing on reaching an effects agreement in regards to the vaccine mandate. We were able to get on a call with Kaleida this morning. We took the time to restate our position on issues that impact our members in regards to the vaccine mandate and the unknowns of the looming staffing crisis.
We were able to get NEW AND CHANGED information on religious exemptions. This information is changed as of yesterday afternoon. New information on religious exemptions are below:

They will be processed as soon as possible, but in no event later than 2:00PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. While employees requests are under review, they may continue to work.
- If an employee’s request is not granted, the employee must either immediately get vaccinated in order to work, or they will be terminated on September 30, 2021.
- If an employee’s request is granted, and provided an accommodation (I.e. extra PPE or other reasonable and appropriate accommodation) can be made for that employee, that employee may continue to work until October 12th, or until the date chosen by the Federal Judge if he decides to continue the religious exemptions.
- If an employee’s request is granted, and provided an accommodation (I.e. extra PPE or other reasonable and appropriate accommodation) can be made for that employee, that employee may continue to work until October 12th or until the date chosen by the Federal Judge if he decides to discontinue the religious exemptions.
