What is Juneteenth?
A holiday celebrated to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.
Join us… CWA 1168 and 1133 will be walkingin the Juneteenth Parade on SaturdayJune 18,2022. We will be meeting for line up at 10:30 am on Genesee Street between Goodyear and Bissell Ave. All CWA members and your family and friends are invited to walk with us. We will be handing out candy and balloons during our walk.
