


The Election of Officers and Area Vice Presidents will take place the week of November 16th – 20th 2020. Members will be able to cast their ballots at any of the sites on the corresponding date. Polls will close at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 20, 2020. Ballots will be counted at 9:00 am at CWA Local 1168 Union office located at 1900 Sweet Home Road. You must be a “Member in Good Standing” (signed a union card and dues deduction form) to participate in this election. Absentee Ballots are available upon request (see enclosed document for details).

Absolut of Gasport – In accordance with the State of New York Executive Order, the election committee will not be granted access to Absolut of Gasport for the upcoming election. Members are encouraged to request an absentee ballot (see enclosed document for details) or may vote at any above location.

Voting Instructions:
- Polls will open and close at the times stated in this notice, any voter standing in line at closing will be permitted to vote
- Voters will be identified (photo ID) and checked off membership list before a ballot is issued
- Member of the election committee will initial back of ballot as it is presented
- The voter will enter voting area, marks the ballot with an x or ü in the square next to the name of the candidate of choice and places ballot into the secured ballot box
- Ballots may be void if defaced (any stray marks) as determined by the election committee
- A voter who spoils a ballot may exchange it for another ballot by surrendering the spoiled ballot to the election committee
- No electioneering (campaigning) is allowed in the voting area
- Ballots will be counted at the date, time and place stated in this notice
- Agency fee payers will not be permitted to vote (have not signed a union card)

Availability of Absentee Ballots
A member in good standing may make a request for an absentee ballot to the Election Committee Chair in writing, by email or phone no later than November 13, 2020. The member will make arrangements to pick up a secret ballot package from the Local Union Office during normal business hours of Monday – Friday. The Absentee Ballots will be available at:

The Member will:
- Show photo ID
- Sign for the Secret Ballot Package
- Follow the instructions to return it via US Mail to a secured designated Post Office Box prior to 9:00 am on Saturday November 21, 2020.
All mailed absentee ballots will be picked up from the post office by two members of the Election Committee on November 21 at 9:00 am. Any ballots received after the designated time will be voided and not counted per Department of Labor, OLMS.
